Two Found Dead in Hassan Abdal Following Alleged Dumper Hijacking

A dumper driver and his conductor were allegedly abducted with their vehicle and later found dead in the Jhari Kas area of Hassan Abdal on Monday, October 5, 2026, police said.

The initial police report named the victims as Javed, 26, the driver, and Zeeshan, 35, his conductor. Police said unidentified armed men stopped the dumper within the limits of the Hassan Abdal Saddar police station and took both men hostage along with the vehicle.

The family reported that the suspects first posed as ordinary passengers and asked for a ride. Media reports said they allegedly used that to seize control of the dumper, then attacked the two men with a sharp-edged weapon.

The bodies were later found in Jhari Kas and were moved to Civil Hospital, Hassan Abdal, for medico-legal examination as investigators began piecing together the timeline.

The family’s account said the attackers used knives and that one of the victims had his throat cut. The family was also reportedly told that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the incident. However, the published reports have not independently confirmed this.

A follow-up report published on October 7 said a double-murder case had been registered under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, following a complaint by the deceased driver’s brother. The complaint reportedly linked the killings to a dispute regarding a sand-dumper trip. This remains an allegation, and the motive has not been conclusively established.

The names of the three alleged suspects were also reported in connection with the main complaint. But no court has confirmed their involvement. This report also listed the victims with different names and ages than in the initial police report, so these details need further verification.

After the killings, the suspects reportedly left the dumper at a deserted location and fled. Police reached the scene and collected forensic evidence and other material to help establish the sequence of events and identify those responsible.

Police are continuing to investigate. They are working to determine the motive, identify those involved, and gather further evidence.

The killings angered local dumper transporters. Members of the Dumper Transport Association protested, citing concerns about the security of heavy-vehicle drivers and conductors in the area.
